Funded Elementary Health and Safety training

This free online training programme is available to all staff working in a UK fishmongers.

The Seafish online Elementary Health and Safety programme including an online invigilated exam is currently fully funded for individuals employed by a UK fishmongering business. This self-study programme along with the exam papers are available in English only. Owing to the fact that the learning materials are available as a series of downloadable PDF documents means that a learner can study at a place, pace and time convenient to them. Most learners take between eight to 14 hours to study the online materials to become exam-ready. The date and time of the online invigilated exam is agreed between the learner and a Seafish approved invigilator. It is conducted via Microsoft Teams or Zoom and consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. A candidate has up to 30 minutes to complete the exam and the pass mark is 60%. Successful candidates are issued with a nationally recognised qualification which is jointly awarded by The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and Seafish.

They are required to record their study time on a study logsheet provided by Seafish and they must also complete at least one online practice test. This helps to build their confidence.
