Funded Elementary Food Hygiene training

This free online training programme is available in a variety of languages including English, Polish and Welsh.

Seafish is currently fully funding their online Elementary Food Hygiene programme for anyone who works in the UK seafood industry, including fishmongers. The qualification is available as an online self-study programme. The learning materials and exam papers are available in English, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese and Welsh. Most learners take between five and ten hours to study the online materials to become exam-ready. The qualification is studied for using online learning materials in written and video format. This allows the learner to study at a place, pace, and time suitable to them, with the 30-question multiple-choice exam invigilated via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. The pass mark is 60%. Successful learners are issued with a nationally recognised qualification which is jointly awarded by The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and Seafish.

As well as a learner being able to study at their own pace, they can also choose when and where to study with access to the online learning materials at all times providing that they have an internet connection. Learners are required to record their study time on their study logsheet and they also have access to online practice tests.

You can follow the link to the Seafish Elementary Food Hygiene (online) webpage where you can access the learning materials.

If you have any questions, or you have completed your studying and would like to book your online invigilated exam, please email the Seafish Onshore Training team, onshore@seafish.co.uk .
